Art and body in space: the multifaceted work of Didier Fiúza Faustino between Paris and Lisbon
Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
Didier Fiúza Faustino is a conceptual artist and Franco-Portuguese architect whose work explores the relationship between the body and space. Situated at the crossroads of art and architecture, his practice is multifaceted, ranging from installation to experimentation, from the creation of subversive visual artworks to the conception of multisensory spaces. His projects are characterised by a critical perspective and by the capacity to provide new experiences for the individual and collective body.
Through his atelier Mésarchitecture (2002) in Paris and his Lisbon studio (2018), he develops projects of varying scales: interventions in public space, mobile architectures, as well as interior design and buildings, among which the studio of French artist Jean-Luc Moulène.
Several of his projects and works are part of the collections of major institutions: MoMA, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Serralves Foundation, Fonds National d'Art Contemporain, Musée National d'Art Moderne / Centre Georges Pompidou, MAXXI, MAAT, FRACs Centre - Val de Loire and Grand Large - Hauts de France.
He is represented by galleries Michel Rein Paris/Brussels and Nuno Centeno.
