Workshop Living Murals
Drawings come to life at Dona Estefânia Hospital on 5 June in a creative workshop promoted by ULusófona
Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
The Healing Nature project, in collaboration with Unidade Local de Saúde São José, will organise the Living Murals workshop at Dona Estefânia Hospital. The programme includes the presentation of the murals installed as part of the project, as well as a workshop where younger participants will be able to transform their drawings into living animations with the support of facilitators from Universidade Lusófona.
The event is divided into two sessions, starting at 10am and 2pm. The workshop is aimed at young people up to 17 years old. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration and further information about the activity schedule are available here.
Programme
Phase 1 | Introduction to the Technologies Used
- Use of AR applications and shadow projectors to showcase visual possibilities on the hospital walls
Phase 2 | Creation
- Children work with markers and paper to create their own “creatures/characters” through drawing, paper cutting and collage, with the support of the facilitators
Phase 3 | The Magic of Shadows and Colours (Projectors)
- With the support of facilitators, children project their shapes/drawings onto the mural and surrounding walls. The interactive overlay allows physical movement; children can manually “move” their characters across the wall, combining them with the work of others to create a collaborative “living mural”.
Phase 4 | The Digital Bridge (Digital and Analogue Tools)
- Technical explorations through light and sound
