Lusófona University - Lisbon University Centre, through its School of Communication, Architecture, Arts, and Information Technologies (ECATI), welcomes Philippe Van Cauteren for the Great Artists on Campus conference, as part of the Audiovisual Week.
As the Artistic Director of S.M.A.K. – Museum of Contemporary Art in Ghent, Belgium, Van Cauteren is a leading figure in the global contemporary art scene. In this lecture, he will share 11 reflections on the world of contemporary art, discussing his experience as a curator and critic, as well as the challenges and transformations within the sector.
With a career highlighted by his co-curation of the Belgian Pavilion at the 55th Venice Biennale and curatorship of the Iraqi Pavilion at the 56th edition, Philippe Van Cauteren has been responsible for numerous international exhibitions, promoting artists from diverse backgrounds and solidifying his influence in the art world.
