  • Born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1960. The film that best summarizes the first phase of the enormous (more than a hundred works for cinema, TV, internet, shows, galleries, events) and controversial work by Edgar Pê ;ra is; The Window (Maryalva Mix) (Festival Locarno 2001), “Iconoclast” for some, “cine-poet-provocateur” for others, Pêra has been filming compulsively since The City of Cassian (Grand Prix Films D’architecture 1991) without giving up a reflection on the reality of his country, whether in the documentary (Movimentos Perpétuos 3 Pré ;mios IndieLisboa 2006) or in fiction (O Barão, in preparation).
  • It was the subject of retrospectives in Amsterdam - World Wide VideoFestival, France - Traveling Festival, Lisbon (Videoteca), Reus (I Festival Curtas Metragens), in Porto (Rivoli) in Braga (Videoteca), among others.
  • He was awarded the Pasolini Prize for his career in 2006, together with Alejandro Jodorowsky, Agnes B. and Fernando Arrabal, in Paris.
