The Erasmus Mundus RE:Anima Master’s Programme was the overall winner in the Schools Films category at the World Animation Celebration, an event organised by Casa da Animação which this year took place in Vila Velha de Ródão.

The touring nature of the World Animation Celebration, bringing animated cinema to different regions of the country, reflects the spirit of the RE:Anima Master’s Programme — an international programme that brings together students from multiple backgrounds across three European countries, encouraging intercultural exchange and the creation of new stories through animation.

According to Casa da Animação, the trophies “pay tribute to the 40th anniversary of the film OH QUE CALMA and the 30th anniversary of the film FADO LUSITANO, both directed by Abi Feijó.” The coincidence is particularly symbolic, as during the semester in Portugal (October 2024), RE:Anima students took part in an artistic residency with Abi Feijó and Regina Pessoa at the Vilar House Museum.
