The short film "Things That I Was Gathering" (6’29’’, 2025), by FilmEU student Ekaterina Zhuzhleva, was selected for the Student Competition of the Flipbook Film Festival (FFF), an international film and animation festival held in Skopje, North Macedonia.

The project was developed as part of the Re:Anima European Joint Master in Animation, a European joint programme integrated into FilmEU, in which Lusófona University participates. Ekaterina Zhuzhleva’s short film was part of the FFF’s official screening programme, which took place from 6 to 9 August, with screenings at the Cinematheque of North Macedonia and the Youth Cultural Center, in Skopje.

The selection at the Flipbook Film Festival (FFF) adds to an international track record that has seen "Things That I Was Gathering" featured at several film and animation festivals. In 2026, the film was selected for the Student Competitions at Animafest Zagreb and Anifilm, and also took part in the ITFS Stuttgart Student Competition, the Tampere Film Festival National Competition and the ANIMA Brussels National Competition. In 2025, the short film also received the Best Film Award in the School Films category at the Festa Mundial da Animação.

In September, "Things That I Was Gathering" will return to the international festival circuit. The short film will be screened on 17 and 27 September at the Helsinki Film Festival, in Finland, where it will compete in the national competition and the thematic category “What Remains”.
