ULusófona academic publishes monograph on today's political landscape
New book by Lusófona University academic António Tavares warns of artificial intelligence's impact on democracy

Lusófona University is pleased to announce the publication of the monograph "Na Espuma dos Dias da República", written by Dr António Tavares, lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Political Science, with a foreword by Edgar Morin. The book is now available to purchase from Editora d'Ideias and major bookshops.
In this book, the author seeks to follow current political developments in Portugal, using waves as a metaphor. He also expresses concern about the rise of the far right and the contradictions of representative democracy in the age of artificial intelligence. He reflects on how much easier it has become to comment on social media, concluding that we are living through a period of profound change in the liberal international order inherited from the Second World War. He also argues that the European ideal runs through almost all the texts, whether from the perspective of Portugal, its role in the world or the globalisation of economies.
