Creativity returned to the Maia Forum with the “Design Scenario” exhibition
The exhibition brought together work by lecturers and students from the Communication Design Degree in a space for sharing and experimentation

Lusófona University – Porto University Centre, in partnership with Maia City Council, presented the second edition of the “Design Scenario” exhibition — a project that brought together teaching, experimentation, and creative outcomes.
The exhibition, dedicated to showcasing the work developed by lecturers and students of the Bachelor’s degree in Communication Design, was inaugurated on 5 November 2025 at 6:00 pm at Fórum da Maia.
The works on display result from a true creative cartography — exercises in observation, mistakes, and reinvention that reveal design as a language in constant deconstruction. Between the manual gesture and the digital algorithm, between paper and pixel, “Design Scenario” explored a territory where technique exposes the thinking that shapes form, allowing visitors to follow different approaches and methodologies that characterise the academic and creative journey of the degree.
During the opening, the Director of the Bachelor’s in Communication Design, Professor António Rodrigues, highlighted the importance of students and lecturers showing themselves to the community and revealing how they think about design. Professor Ricardo Gomes, Deputy Director of the same degree, added that the event plays a fundamental role in the students’ training process, helping to strengthen their self-confidence — a characteristic that is sometimes scarce in the early stages of professional life: “The main goal is to give students an early opportunity to feed their ego. If we give students an early chance to publicly present their work, to show their value and see that value recognised, we are investing in that student just as we are investing in their abilities and in their belief in themselves.”
The project also included Talks — conversations that brought together lecturers, students, guests, and the general public — aiming to create moments of discussion and sharing, dialogues that bridge practice and reflection, opening space for criticism and the imagination of possible futures.
