Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)

Between 17 and 28 March, the atrium of the Professor José Araújo Auditorium hosted the exhibition “European Pillar of Social Rights”, promoted by Europe Direct - Área Metropolitana de Lisboa, as part of the celebrations of World Social Work Day.
The initiative aimed to raise awareness within the academic community about the importance of the European Pillar of Social Rights, a commitment by the European Union to ensure equal opportunities, fair working conditions, and social protection and inclusion. Through informative panels and interactive materials, the exhibition highlighted the 20 fundamental principles that guide this pillar and their application in the daily lives of European citizens.
Throughout the exhibition period, numerous students visited the space, exploring the content and reflecting on the relevance of social rights in building a fairer and more equitable Europe. To further enhance this experience, two guided tours were held, led by Professor Nélson Ramalho (ISS/FCSEA), which provided opportunities for debate and knowledge sharing on the challenges and opportunities arising from the implementation of these principles.
An initiative that reinforces the importance of social rights in the European Union and the ongoing need to promote and defend them.
