Environmental Engineering students take part in LIS-Water training
Training gives students insight into environmental sector practices and challenges

Between 13 and 24 July 2026, students from the Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Jandira Fernandes and Makiesse Castellbranco, took part in training organised by the Lisbon International Centre for Water (LIS-Water), which provided them with a real-world learning experience and close contact with the professional sector.
During the training, the students had the opportunity to undertake several technical visits, explore different facilities, follow processes and gain first-hand insight into different aspects of the sector. This experience allowed them to interact directly with several professionals in the field, bringing them closer to the reality of the labour market and providing them with a practical and concrete understanding of the professional context.
Throughout this experience, the students were able to develop and strengthen a range of skills, from technical and subject-specific knowledge to the personal and professional skills essential for their future.
In addition to academic training, Lusófona University recognises the importance of real-world experience in students’ development, promoting contact with the labour market and providing experiences that complement and enrich their education.
