05/12/2025 – Upcycling | Navy Project
Students of Fashion Lusófona – Lusófona University welcomed a representative of the Portuguese Navy for a special session presenting the functionality and discontinuation of Portuguese Navy uniforms.
As part of the “Sustainability & Solidarity by UL - Navy” Project, the Navy donated discontinued uniforms to Fashion Lusófona – Lusófona University, which will serve as inspiration and raw material for the creation of new fashion works within each academic project.
This partnership represents a meeting point between historical heritage, sustainability, solidarity and creative innovation, challenging students to give new life to highly symbolic pieces, transforming them into original fashion design proposals. A unique experience linking Portuguese maritime tradition with contemporary fashion vision.

17/11/2025 – Bomber Jacket Project
The project aims to complement the pattern-making and garment construction programme. Based on the jacket and men’s sizing, the students developed a jacket to their liking, respecting the forms and volumes of the human body. Individual choice determined materials and internal and external finishes. This project had added impact due to a partnership with course partner companies, which provide various materials necessary for the development of the different exercises proposed by the instructors.
The works produced reflect the students’ creativity, technical rigour and ability to conceive fashion in a sustainable, socially responsible and innovative way, making a significant contribution to their academic and professional journey.
These initiatives reinforce the development of technical, creative and conceptual skills essential in the current fashion context, while simultaneously promoting engagement with external entities, networking and knowledge sharing.
