Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
Architect Miguel Figueira was the guest of the fifth session of the Great Artists on Campus series, held on 16 March at Lusófona University - Lisbon University Centre.
The initiative featured a presentation by the architect, focused on his career and interventions with social and territorial impact, followed by a Q&A session with the audience.
A graduate of FAUP, Figueira highlighted projects developed in Montemor-o-Velho, such as the escalators in the historic centre and the High Performance Centre on the Mondego, both internationally recognised. He also addressed his civic involvement, namely through the SOS Cabedelo movement, as well as curatorial projects exploring the relationship between territory, the sea and architecture.
The session was part of the Skynet programme and reinforced the dialogue between artistic practice, sustainability and the academic community.
