Innovative Project Reaches National Final of the Digital Health 2025 Competition
Lusófona University Team Develops Innovative Helmet for Children in the Field of Health and Biomedical Technology

The team from Lusófona University, composed of students Evna Pereira and Rita Rijo and former Biomedical Engineering degree student Stefânia Machado, developed an innovative helmet for collecting electrophysiological data in children, as part of a project focused on health and biomedical technology.
The project was one of the 10 finalists selected from over 900 applications and was presented at the beginning of December at Digital Health 2025 (H-INNOVA), held at the University of Madeira.
The event brought together hospitals, organisations, start-ups, universities, and researchers, aiming to promote collaboration, encourage health innovation, facilitate knowledge transfer, and create networking and business opportunities.
This recognition highlights the team’s dynamism, creativity, and innovative spirit, emphasising the importance of collaboration between faculty, students, and alumni in creating technological solutions with social impact.
