Intercultural Gathering Brought Together Cleaning Staff

The Final Gathering with the Cleaning Staff took place on 30 June 2026 at the Professor José Araújo Auditorium, at Universidade Lusófona – Lisbon University Centre.

Part of the "Participatory and Intercultural Encounters: Paths to Inclusion" programme, the initiative was held in two sessions and brought together staff, lecturers and members of the academic community.

The gathering marked the conclusion of the activities carried out throughout the 2025/2026 academic year, providing a space for social interaction, sharing and intercultural learning. During the sessions, highlights from the programme were presented, celebrating the cultural diversity within the institution.

The initiative was attended by Professor Manuel de Almeida Damásio, Dr Luís Martinho, Ms Isabel Diogo, and Professor Hélia Bracons, as well as the cleaning staff themselves, who shared traditions, customs and cultural expressions from their countries and communities of origin.

The event highlighted the contribution of these professionals to everyday university life and reinforced the principles of inclusion, mutual respect and intercultural coexistence.
