The 50th APAVT Congress – Portuguese Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies – recently concluded in Macau, bringing together over a thousand tourism professionals to discuss key topics such as the diversification of new business models and the evolution of the tourism tax. Among the participants, two young Portuguese professionals stood out, having been directly invited by the organisation.
Inês Neto and Jéssica Sousa, finalists of the Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism, attended the congress while completing their six-month curricular internship at the Conrad Hotel in Beijing. The invitation from APAVT highlights the recognition of their academic and professional dedication.
This international experience results from partnerships developed by the Department of Tourism, ensuring relevant internship opportunities for all students in the degree. The presence of the two students at the congress demonstrates the importance of internationalisation and practical training for the future of Portuguese tourism.
