Rui Gaspar Appointed Member of WHO Technical Advisory Group
Rui Gaspar begins second term on WHO European group dedicated to risk communication, community involvement and management of infodemics
22.07.25 - 14h26Professor Rui Gaspar has been appointed for a second term as a member of the Technical Advisory Group on Risk Communication, Community Engagement, and Infodemic Management (RCCE-IM) in the World Health Organization (WHO) European Region.
The new mandate began on June 24, 2025, with a two-day virtual meeting that marked the first working session of this new phase.
The group is composed of 20 experts from 17 countries and continues the work initiated during the first mandate (2023–2025), with the aim of strengthening the scientific field of RCCE-IM and ensuring that communities remain at the heart of public health emergency responses.
During the first mandate, one of the group’s in-person meetings was co-organized by Professor Rui Gaspar in partnership with WHO Europe and took place at Universidade Lusófona on April 17 and 18, 2024.
