The Institute of Social Work at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Education and Administration (FCSEA) welcomed new students to the Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work on 3 September, at a welcome session held in the Prof. José Araújo Auditorium at Lusófona University. The initiative marked the beginning of an integration programme designed to give students an initial opportunity to become familiar with the University, its services and the academic community.

Throughout September, the programme includes a range of support and mentoring activities aimed at promoting a participatory, supportive and inclusive university experience. Among the planned activities are visits by Student Mentors to first-year classes to present the programme and answer questions about how it works, as well as a Peer Matching Activity, which formally establishes the connection between mentors and mentees and launches a network of academic, social and personal support. The programme also included a presentation of the Bachelor’s Degree, contributions from different FCSEA departments and services, a question-and-answer session, and a tour of the University Campus.
