Summer School - Coding
Between bits, bytes and artificial intelligence, participants prepare for the new digital age
09.08.23 - 17h03Held for a week at Universidade Lusófona, the Summer School of Programming was an initiative where participants had the opportunity to learn to program from scratch in one of the most modern and interesting languages today, Python.
Organized to help students learn gradually, in the morning there was an explanatory session through examples and exercises, during the afternoon, a project was developed with the knowledge acquired: a smart calculator.
The methodology is based on simplifying the concepts associated with programming with a follow-up in the classroom by the teacher, which allowed people with different levels of knowledge to participate. They were taught what programming is, what programming languages are and then introduced to PyCharm, the Integrated Development Environment where code is written and executed.
One of the most interesting parts of programming is to think of scenarios in which the program must satisfy without any error, through logic exercises.
In the end, the expectation is that the participant knows, besides programming from the programmer's point of view, to design a graphical interface and to create the executable file itself to be shared.
