The initiative by the Local Centre for Migrant Integration Support strengthens the welcoming and integration of third-country student
Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
Universidade Lusófona, through the Local Centre for Migrant Integration Support, has created an intercultural mentoring programme aimed at supporting third-country students throughout their university experience.
The initiative aims to create a support network to facilitate these students’ integration into Universidade Lusófona through the guidance and support of mentors from the academic community. Mentors will welcome and guide students, help them become familiar with the University and its services, support their academic, social and cultural integration, and refer them to the appropriate resources whenever necessary.
The creation of this programme reinforces Universidade Lusófona’s commitment to building an open, inclusive and intercultural academic community. By promoting interaction and collaboration between students from different backgrounds, the initiative contributes not only to the integration of third-country students, but also to enriching the academic and cultural experience of the entire university community.
Students, staff and faculty members of Universidade Lusófona can apply to become mentors, contributing to a more inclusive university community and promoting the integration of students from different cultural backgrounds.
