The ERRAR International Photography Conference, held at Lusófona University - Lisbon University Centre from 7 to 10 October, included a panel discussion and a workshop in its programme, both dedicated to On Essayism, a Dynamic Cluster of the FilmEU European University Alliance.
Organised through a collaboration between Fo:RCE, Procur.ARTE, the Department of Cinema and Media Arts and FilmEU, Panel 7 featured contributions from Isolde Vanhee, Arne De Winde and Katarína Mišíková, members of the On Essayism platform team.
The session explored the topics "Highlights Stage 3 Vuelta a España: Gruissan-Font Romeu, 174 stills" (with the participation of Lennert De Vroey) and "Cinematic Essayism as a Method of Artistic Research into Reality".
The workshop, led by Hugo Barata with the participation of Paulo T. Silva, focused on the theme "Anarchives, Constellations and other Atlases".
These initiatives reflected the conference's central concept, based on the dual meaning of the Portuguese word "errar", understood both as a method and as an attitude towards fieldwork with images.
The event brought together photographers, artists, researchers, students and lecturers from several institutions belonging to the FilmEU Alliance.
