Lusófona University – Porto University Centre held the workshop “Sexuality and Behaviours in Affective Relationships” on 7 April. The event, organised by the Psychology, Innovation and Knowledge Service (SPIC-CUP), was part of the Solver ATE project and aimed to raise awareness among students about key topics related to mental and emotional health.

Organised by Margarida Valverde and Mirei Silva, master's students in Academic and Health Psychology, along with Elisa Aires, the workshop offered a comprehensive approach to sexuality — from its development and influencing factors to how it manifests in intimate relationships. Topics discussed included healthy and unhealthy behaviours in relationships, the impact of university life on sexuality, and the deconstruction of intimacy-related myths.

The session featured interactive activities such as identifying myths and facts, reflective exercises on key concepts, and practical discussions of real-life relational behaviours. The growing concern around phenomena such as dating violence and emotional abuse reinforces the importance of creating safe spaces for dialogue, particularly among young people in academic contexts.

Open to the student community, the event promoted self-awareness, mutual respect, and the building of more conscious relationships, at a time when discussing affection, identity and boundaries is becoming increasingly urgent.
