“Hello, my name is Ana Beatriz and I am in the 4th year of the Bachelor’s Degree in Law at Universidade Lusófona – Porto University Centre.
What motivated me to choose this course is that, from an early age, Law has always sparked my interest. This is not only related to my sense of justice, but also to the way it helps us understand how rules can influence people’s lives, support them in key moments, and listen to them. It is therefore an area where there is no immediate answer; it requires discussion, argumentation, reflection, and listening, which is why it has always interested me.
One course unit that particularly stood out for me was Criminal Law. This is not only due to the subject matter itself, but also the way it is taught, which made it especially impactful for me.
One experience that marked me was a visit to a women’s prison, organised by the Law Students’ Association of ULusófona – Porto University Centre. This visit allowed us to have closer contact with the practical and human side of Law, as direct interaction with inmates helped us understand how they think and live. It was therefore a highly enriching experience.
My biggest challenge was academic pressure, pace, and demands, but I believe these difficulties helped me develop skills I did not previously have, namely organisation and commitment. These challenges were essential in shaping both my personal and professional growth.
I evaluate both the teaching staff and the institution very positively. I truly believe that professors are always available to support our studies and clarify doubts. The institution, ULusófona – Porto University Centre, provides excellent training to students, which positively influences their academic journey.
My advice to those considering enrolling in the Bachelor’s Degree in Law at Universidade Lusófona – Porto University Centre is: take the risk and believe that with effort, dedication, and passion, you will achieve the results you want.
