Hello, I'm Maria Nunes, I'm 21 years old and I have a degree in Communication and Journalism.

In Secondary School, I attended an Industrial Chemistry Technique course because I thought I wanted to be a biomedical doctor, but after three on-the-job training courses, three internships, I discovered that being confined in a laboratory was not for me. However, theory, research, wanting to know beyond what we are allowed is what made me choose journalism because I managed to combine theory with an outdoor practice, contact with people, which is what I like in the background.

Winning the Fernando Sousa Journalism Award was, in fact, a surprise. I think we were all excited just to be admitted to the candidacy, yet the podium, the victory, was far from our imagination, so it was a real surprise that we won.

The Lusófona University gave me the opportunity to win my first journalistic prize, which was a Report You contest, in partnership with REC, reporters under construction, and it was an opportunity given by the coordination of the Communication and Journalism course.

The Degree in Communication and Journalism has an integrated internship, a curricular internship, I had the opportunity to do mine at SIC and I stayed there to work. I plan now to finish my training in Radio Journalism, combined with the production I do at SIC and then find my way. If you are looking for a course in the area of Social Communication with a very strong practical component, this is the ideal course for you. In addition, it allows you to combine the academic spirit with the desire to enter the job market, as the faculty has a partnership with very prestigious communication bodies and by doing your curricular internship you will be able to have doors open to the job market, which that will be very good for you and for your future.
