Hello, my name is Leonor Costa and I'm in the third year of the Bachelor's Degree in Communication and Journalism. I chose this programme because it has a stronger focus on journalism, which is the career path I wanted to pursue. I also chose Lusófona University because I had heard that the course was very practical.

I definitely don't regret my decision because, in our very first class, we went out to write a news story. That was fantastic because I wasn't just sitting in a classroom – I was doing practical work right from day one.

My academic journey has mainly involved practical assignments, which I thought was excellent from the very beginning. As I mentioned, we started writing news stories straight away, producing reports and recording in the studio.

I think that has given me a real advantage for my future because I've already had the opportunity to work in television and radio studios and to experience what it's like to be in front of a camera or behind a microphone, speaking to an audience. I believe that's incredibly valuable because, when I enter the job market and face these situations professionally, I'll already have practical experience that others may not have had.
