The discipline aims to deepen the theoretical and practical understanding of Social Work in contexts of risk and violence. Through a critical and reflective approach, students will have the opportunity to analyze different forms of violence and the challenges they pose to professional intervention. The curricular unit encourages reflection on intervention methodologies, support networks, specialized services and public policies that guarantee the protection and promotion of the rights of populations in vulnerable situations.

Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
Teaching: Adoption of participatory methodologies, combining theoretical presentations, classroom exercises and debates. Seminars with experts and oral presentations will be held to encourage the practical application of knowledge. The analysis of documents, as well as the use of audiovisual materials, will facilitate the understanding of the topics. Assessment: Assessment is continuous based on the following elements: 1) Written work (50%); 2) Oral presentation (30%); 3) Active participation (10%). The average of the assessment elements must be greater than or equal to 9.5 points. The appeal exam consists of an individual written assignment (100%), the minimum grade for which to pass is 9.5 points.
