Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) ODS5 ODS10

Start April 8, 2025 | 13h00 End April 11, 2025 | 19h00

The Lusófona University – Porto University Centre will host, from the 8th to the 11th of April 2025, the Porto Femme – International Film Festival, a prominent event aimed at giving visibility to stories and realities that are often marginalised, promoting gender equality and reducing inequalities. This year, the festival focuses on the theme "Invisibility", reflecting on social issues that are often ignored or silenced.

The 8th edition of the festival features a selection of 120 films from 35 countries, including 5 world premieres, 7 international premieres, 3 European premieres, and 48 national premieres. The festival also includes a special screening titled "The World According to a Lesbian", exploring cinema as a space for representation, identity, and self-determination. In addition to the screenings, the programme includes workshops, debates, and Q&A sessions, making it an essential event for cultural intervention.
