    ReSound, sound is more than what we hear, it´s how we connect, create, and innovate. The programme delves into sound´s multifaceted presence in our lives: from the stage to performance art, from film to virtual reality, and from natural landscapes to urban soundscapes. It challenges students to rethink their engagement with the world, shaping artists and researchers who drive forward the evolution of sound across dynamic fields.

    Entry requirements and conditions

    ReSound is open to both European and non-European students who hold a bachelor´s degree in sound, music, film, or media studies. Applicants with degrees in other fields may also be considered if they possess relevant prior experience in areas such as sound, music, film, or media studies. The following requirements must be fulfilled by all applicants: - Application Form (online and complying with the imposed deadlines, no applications sent by regular mail will be accepted). - Copy of passport/identification card (this should be an official identification document including a photograph and personal data like first name, surname and date and place of birth. This data should be described in the English language -like in passports. We recommend that the expiration date covers the duration of the entire master plus six months). - Recent headshot photograph. - Stamped university documentation for previous degree(s) and its transcripts of record. Bachelor or Master with minimum or European Qualifications Framework level 6 or equivalent (If the language of the degree or transcript is in another language than English, a certified translation must be supplied). - As part of the application form, a curriculum vitae of professional qualifications, experience, pieces of work, jobs, tasks, professional skills in sound, music and/or media industries. - Two Letters of Recommendation, at least one must be academic. These should not follow a template. The only requirement is that the contact details of the person providing the reference must be clearly typed and, if possible, should contain a business email address and a telephone number. - Letter of motivation that expresses interest in studying at ReSound (max 1000 characters) - Portfolio of previous sound/media related work. Please include a short reflective paragraph on each piece explicitly stating your role in the work. Please supply no more than 3 examples. You can supply a single hyperlink to a portfolio website or a compilation audio or video file. The team can realistically listen/watch 10-15 minutes of material per application, so please select the best work. - Proof of proficiency in the English language ¿ Please see the language requirements below.

    Profile of the candidates for whom the course is intended

    Who have at a minimum a primary qualification at Level 6 on the European Qualifications Framework. The target applicants are typically sound / media school graduates, particularly those with post¿qualification industry experience. Applicants may hold qualifications from other domains and significant industry experience in audio / media related disciplines.. The Masters is designed for those who wish to pursue a career in sound / audio in any aspect of the broader Cultural and Creative Industries.

    - Evaluate and synthesise research that elevates artistic practice via the development of individual creative voices and methodologies by means of artistic experimentation and reflection. - Refine and apply advanced listening skills extending to critical analysis and problem-solving regarding the sound-world in which we live. - Demonstrate competencies in collaborative work while also reflecting upon group dynamics, challenges and successes. - Discuss the history and cultural legacy of cinematic sound, acoustics, and sound as a human sensory experience in the European context. - Develop proficiency in capturing and manipulating audio and apply technical skills across multiple sonic domains

    Graduates of the ReSound Erasmus Mundus Joint programme will be uniquely positioned at the intersection of creative practice, innovation, and critical scholarship in sound. The programme´s rigorous, practice-led curriculum - developed by leading institutions across the FilmEU European University - equips students with the advanced creative, collaborative, and entrepreneurial skills required to thrive in an evolving global industry. ReSound alumni will be equipped for a diverse range of professional paths, including careers in sound design, audio post-production, immersive audio, sound art, sonic branding, and interdisciplinary media creation.
