Entrance Conditions
The following may apply for the Master's Degree:
a) People who hold a B.A. or equivalent degree;
b) People who hold a foreign academic degree awarded after a 1st study cycle organized according to the Bologna Process by a member state of that process;
c) People who hold a foreign academic degree acknowledged as a degree satisfying the objectives of the graduate degree by the due body;
d) People who have a school, scientific or professional curriculum acknowledged by the due body of ULHT certifying the capacity to obtain this study cycle.

Objectives
In practice, and since the 1st year of implementation, there was always a presence of parliament representatives, diplomats, and senior executives, side by side with a younger population, in sound and highly motivated conviviality, which made teaching and learning a stimulating and enriching exercise of experience sharing.
Knowledge, abilities and skills to be acquired
Most subjects of the Political Science - Citizenship and Governance Master's degree offer a theoretical learning and a practical experience through multiple works of observation of organisations and political-social actors.
The expert in Political Science ¿ Citizenship and Governance acquires specific skills in areas such as Contemporary Political Science, Communitarian Political System, Public Administration, Regional and Local Institutions, Citizenship and Human Rights. This is a professional that, individually or integrated in a team, is capable of observing, characterising and evaluating the components that define certain socio-political contexts and intervene, direct or indirectly, in its analysis, management and modification.
The Political Science expert can integrate administration and management bodies at on a national, regional, local and international level (in a European and Portuguese speaking perspective).
Also acquires competences to integrate research, teaching and training frameworks.
Further Studies
The Master¿s Degree in Political Science ¿ Citizenship and Governance is the intermediary cycle between the degree in Political Science and International Relations and the continuation of PhD studies.

The professional target of the Course comprehends great variety of social life sectors: State services, central, regional, and autarchic administration bodies, political parties, companies and organisations, syndicates, associations, cooperatives, media, diplomacy, Armed Forces, international organisations, development and cooperation agents, etc.
