On 18 May 2026, researcher Nuno Costa Ribeiro publicly defended his doctoral thesis in Physical Education and Sport, in the specialisation of Didactics of Physical Education and Sport, at Lusófona University.

In a display of competence and dedication, the newly awarded doctor — who is part of the coaching staff led by Vítor Pereira at Zamalek SC — became champion of the Egyptian First Division Football Championship just 48 hours after his academic approval, on 20 May.

The high-level research developed by the now Doctor Nuno Costa Ribeiro benefited from an international technical-scientific supervision network. The scientific work was supervised by Professor Dr João Alberto Valente dos Santos and co-supervised by Professors Dr Oliver Gonzalo-Skok (Universidad Loyola Andalucía, Spain) and António Francisco Furtado Salgueiro Tavares (Sporting Clube de Portugal), highlighting institutional cooperation and the link between academia and high-performance sport.
