From 10 to 12 November, Lusófona University – Lisbon University Centre hosted the FilmEU Industry Summit 2025, organised in partnership with LEFFEST – Lisbon Film Festival. The event brought together specialists, academics, and industry professionals to discuss the future of the creative industries, promoting knowledge exchange and networking opportunities.

Throughout the three days, topics such as emerging trends in the audiovisual sector, virtual production, and the impact of artificial intelligence on cinema were explored. Highlights included case studies on the post-production of major films such as Thor: Ragnarok, presented by Cynthia Collins, the presentation of the AGORA AI Position Paper, and debates on the challenges and potential of technology in cinematic storytelling.

The programme also included film screenings and the LEFFEST Talks, featuring filmmakers such as Christian Petzold and Clément Cogitore, who shared valuable insights on contemporary cinema and creative processes.

The summit additionally honoured the winners of the FilmEU Changemaker, the FiHub programme, and the FilmEU Film Festival, recognising innovative projects that push the boundaries of narrative and technology.

The event reinforced FilmEU’s commitment to pedagogical innovation and collaboration between academia and industry, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and preparing professionals for a rapidly evolving sector.
