First steps in higher education: Human Resource Management students
Students began their academic journey with insights from academia and the professional world

Marking the beginning of a new academic cycle, the Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management and the Master's degree in Advanced Human Resource Management at Lusófona University – Lisbon University Centre brought together students, lecturers, and professionals for a Welcome Session on 22 September.
The session began with an opening address by Lecturer Isabel Duarte, followed by a keynote lecture from Dr Rui Santos, Head of the Upstream and Energy Management HRBP Team at GALP, who shared his professional experience and current challenges in the field of people management. The programme also included a corporate theatre performance by the company Didaskalia, which offered a dynamic and interactive perspective on the business world.
The closing remarks were delivered by Lecturer Pedro Quinteiro, coordinator of the Master's programme, who highlighted the relevance of education in addressing the new challenges of human resource management. The session marked the beginning of the academic journey and strengthened the connection between the university and the business sector.
