ULusófona Wins Award in Cinanima National Competition
"Between Hairs", an animated film about the female body created by three students from ULusófona University, wins the Young Portuguese Filmmaker Award
19.11.25 - 15h30The film "Entre Pelos" by students Feno Dias, Theo Quinhones and Lucas Serra won the Portuguese Young Filmmaker Award (over 18 up to 30 years old) in the National Competition of Cinanima, which ended this past weekend.
The film, which addresses stereotyped ideas of female body beauty conveyed through the male gaze and by the media, was developed in the Documentary Animation curricular unit in the 2024–2025 academic year, taught by the professor and filmmaker Pedro Serrazina.
Professor Pedro Serrazina was also honoured in this edition of the festival for the 30th anniversary of his film "Estória do Gato e da Lua". His work was the subject of discussion and analysis by a panel of guests who took part in the 5th edition of "Olhares sobre a Animação Portuguesa", a section created by the honouree five years ago when he was the artistic director of that edition of the festival, and which promotes a more academic debate on the animation cinema produced in Portugal.
Lusófona University thanks the students and the professor for the work developed.
