Plant-Based Foods: Science with Flavour celebrated Food Day
Lusófona University marked World Food Day with workshops, scientific sessions and show cooking dedicated to sustainable nutrition

On 16 October 2025, Lusófona University celebrated World Food Day with the event “Plant-Based Foods: Science with Flavour”, entirely dedicated to nutrition, health, and environmental sustainability.
The morning began with the hands-on workshop “Plant-Based Diet”, organised in partnership with APDP, where participants prepared their own meals and tasted the results, exploring the benefits of a balanced and mindful diet.
In the afternoon, the CBIOS Scientific Session took place, featuring Prof. Dr Rosane Griep from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Brazil), who presented the ELSA-Brasil Study, one of the largest longitudinal studies on adult health in Latin America.
The day concluded with a showcooking and tasting dedicated to the theme “How to replace meat in a healthy way”, offering a practical and inspiring experience on sustainable food choices, aligned with global goals for promoting health, education, and climate action.
