Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
The MonsterLab game, developed within the research project Games Inclusion Lab: Participatory Media Creation Processes for Accessibility (GameIN) at Lusófona University, was distinguished with the “Best Game Demo” award at the 15th International Conference on Video Game Sciences and Arts (Videojogos 2025).
The conference was organised by the Portuguese Society of Video Game Sciences and IPMaia – Instituto Politécnico da Maia.
GameIN is a project focused on the use of games to promote the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities. MonsterLab is one of the several outcomes of this project and was co-created with users from APPACDM de Lisboa (Ajuda) and CECD de Mira Sintra, whose collaboration was essential for its development.
A special thanks to our researchers João Freire and Pedro Gouveia for presenting the game at the conference, as well as to the entire team responsible for developing the various games within this project.
