Lusófona University Welcomes Erasmus+ Staff and Strengthens Global Cooperation
International mobility promotes academic exchange and reflection on social inclusion
Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
The Institute of Social Work at Lusófona University – Lisbon University Centre recently had the privilege of welcoming three lecturers from the Universitat de Lleida, במסגרת an Erasmus+ mobility dedicated to training and academic exchange.
During their stay, the researchers carried out a range of scientific and pedagogical activities focused on a highly relevant contemporary theme: the participation of migrant-background families in educational contexts and the challenges associated with social inclusion.
The initiative, organised and led by the Institute of Social Work, provided a space for critical reflection and knowledge sharing among lecturers, researchers and students, fostering dialogue between different European contexts in the field of social and educational policies.
The programme included a specialised seminar, during which empirical research results developed in Spain were presented, alongside a discussion of the factors influencing the involvement of migrant families in school life. This debate highlighted the fundamental role of Social Work in intercultural mediation, the promotion of participation and the strengthening of social cohesion.
The presence of lecturers from the Universitat de Lleida also reinforced the international dimension of the Institute of Social Work at Lusófona University, consolidating academic and scientific cooperation networks. This exchange contributed to deepening comparative knowledge between educational contexts in southern Europe, highlighting similarities, shared challenges and opportunities for intervention.
For the Institute of Social Work, this initiative forms part of a broader strategy of internationalisation, the promotion of applied research and a commitment to critical and transformative professional practices. This mobility paves the way for future collaborations in European projects, particularly in the areas of social inclusion, cultural diversity and socio-educational intervention.
