
ULusófona Coordinates the 4th Edition of the FilmEU Summit

18.06.24 - 12h44The 4th edition of the FilmEU Summit took place from the 4th to the 6th of June at the VŠMU University in Bratislava, Slovakia, marking the first summit with the participation of all eight partners: Lusófona University, Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology, LUCA School of Arts, Tallinn University, VŠMU University, VIA University College, LMTA, and the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts "Kr. Sarafov". Lusófona University played a central role as the project coordinator, leading discussions and setting strategies throughout the event.
The FilmEU Summit opened with a leadership symposium focused on the legal status of European Universities and the European Education Package. Leaders and rectors from various institutions gathered to discuss the future of European higher education. The afternoon was devoted to productive meetings and the General Assembly of the FilmEU Association.
On the second day, activities began with the Academic Council meeting, followed by a masterclass conducted by Jakob Isak Nielsen from Aarhus University on "Future Models for the Film Industry". The discussions explored the future capacity for R&D and innovation within European universities and among the FilmEU partners.
The final day of the FilmEU Summit concluded a week filled with activities and debates. Highlights included presentations of projects in the field of artistic research and a lecture on Cultural Intelligence. The FilmEU audiovisual team, coordinated by Lusófona University, had a special moment as they showcased their work to students and shared feedback on collaborative activities and event coverage.
The 4th FilmEU Summit reaffirmed Lusófona University's leadership in the project, demonstrating its commitment and coordination skills within a diverse and international consortium.
