ULusófona Student Finalist in Monte-Carlo Television Festival Competition

Mariana de Souza Machado, a student on the Master's in Film Studies at Lusófona University, has been selected as a finalist in the second edition of the Tell Me a Story pitch competition, organised by the Monte-Carlo Television Festival in partnership with the American production company 1895 Films.

Dedicated to discovering new voices in non-fiction, the competition seeks to identify original ideas and untold stories developed by a new generation of audiovisual content creators.

The finalists will have the opportunity to present their projects during the festival's Business Forum, taking place from 12–16 June in the Principality of Monaco, before an audience of industry professionals and a jury composed of international television and media executives.

Mariana de Souza Machado is competing with Late to Desire, a documentary project exploring themes of female sexuality, ageing and women's autonomy through a contemporary and socially relevant approach.

Organised in collaboration with 1895 Films, led by Emmy and Peabody Award-winning executive producer Tom Jennings, the competition offers participants the opportunity to present their projects to leading professionals from the international audiovisual industry and to establish contacts with potential partners for the future development of their work.

Mariana's selection as one of the finalists reinforces the international profile of Lusófona University and highlights the quality of the work produced by its students in the fields of film and audiovisual production.
