World Congress Discussed Challenges in Social Protection
Experts examined the coordination and harmonisation of international Social Security systems

The 2nd World Congress of the International Association for Social Protection took place on 28 and 29 May 2026 at the Agostinho da Silva Auditorium, Faculty of Law, Universidade Lusófona. Organised by CEAD Francisco Suárez, the event was held in a hybrid format and brought together academics, researchers, and professionals from different countries.
Throughout the congress, key issues in international social protection were discussed, with a particular focus on models for the coordination and harmonisation of Social Security regulations.
The sessions examined the evolution of international instruments, from the conventions of the International Labour Organization and the Council of Europe to the European regulations currently in force.
