“Beatriz Berg, Master’s in Fashion Production Design. Since I was a child, I had an interest in fashion, but I thought it wasn’t a realistic path. So, I decided to study chemistry.

I studied chemistry in Brazil while constantly thinking about fashion. When the opportunity came to move to Portugal, I decided to revive that dream. I completed my undergraduate degree in Fashion at Universidade Lusófona and I am now pursuing my master’s degree.

At the moment, I am considering becoming a teacher. My experience has been very positive, both with professors and in supporting other students while still being a student myself. Now, during my master’s, I am also working as a teaching assistant, and I realise that this is what I want to pursue.

My advice is to be patient with yourself and with others. Sometimes you expect your first experience to be perfect, but that’s not how university works.

Grades are not the most important thing — it’s the experiences you gain. It may be easier to say this now that I’ve finished my degree, but the truth is that I grew more by making mistakes than by getting everything right at once.”
