The Licentiate degree in IT Management aims to train specialists that are capable of handling, editing and analyzing information, specifically in order to support decision making on a conceptual and abstract level, in the context of management activities in public and private organizations. The licentiate degree involves a set of essential basic and specialized training materials which allow the future professional to work using scientific rigour, modern day technological know-how and the endows them with operational and strategic management abilities in fields that include the analysis, conception, modelling, production, operation and maintenance of IT applications, computer networks in organizations, decision-making support tools and computer applications for business management.

The study plan points to a profile of solid training, that is internationally recognized in the context of the responses of computer science to the requirements of organizations, through the preparation of specialists with a vocational training based on information technology - information technologies - and information systems - information systems. The employability rate of the students who graduate from the Lusophone University (¿Universidade Lusofona¿) is excellent, particularly as regards the area of IT Management. ULHT has promoted and will promote, in the future, protocols with the relevant professional and business bodies in the field of IT Management. The protocols cover the most varied areas. We highlight the integration of students in projects and internships in companies and the integration of trainers in areas of technological and organizational excellence. Currently this collaboration involves entities like Microsoft, Oracle, Vodafone, IBM, Portugal Telecom, Cisco, Sybase, SUN, Orad, Optimus, National Instruments, Autodesk, New Vision, Discreet, Digitalis, Novis, Enrnst & Young, TAP, and Alcatel.
