You can now choose to study at your own pace and complete your master’s or doctoral degree on either a full-time or part-time basis.
This option is available for master’s and doctoral programmes worth 90 ECTS credits or more.
Tuition fees are calculated according to the number of ECTS credits in which you enrol.

What will I learn in this course?
The Master's course in Clinical and Health Psychology at Universidade Lusófona - Centro Universitário Lisboa is aimed at students who have completed a 1st cycle degree in Psychology. The 2nd cycle of studies is characterised by theoretical and practical training aimed at acquiring knowledge and skills in the area of mental health and the psychological dimensions associated with physical health. In addition, students are expected to acquire research skills that enable them to act according to models based on empirical evidence. The training in this cycle of studies is given by emphasising the ethical and deontological principles that guide the activity of psychologists in the contexts of practice and research in clinical and health psychology.

Holders of a bachelor's degree in psychology are eligible to apply for this cycle of studies in psychology leading to a master's degree.

1. Os/as candidatos/as sem classificação numérica da habilitação anterior (mas com comprovativo de grau em Psicologia de 1º ciclo/licenciatura), são seriados de acordo com os seguintes critérios:
- 20% - Mestrado - Motivação/justificação candidatura
- 80% - Mestrado - Entrevista - CV Científico ou profiss.

Technical and professional skills that I will acquire
At the end of the Master's course in Clinical and Health Psychology at Universidade Lusófona - Centro Universitário Lisboa, students are expected to: - Know the assumptions of intervention based on empirical evidence; - Identify, critically select and use psychological assessment methods, techniques and instruments for different stages of development (children, adolescents, adults and the elderly); - Know the main models and methods of psychotherapeutic intervention and health psychology - Plan, implement and evaluate psychological assessment and intervention plans for different age groups; - Diagnose common psychological problems and disorders at different stages of development according to a multidimensional model; - Communicate clinical information with rigour; - Have communication and relationship-building skills and know how to apply them to different intervention contexts. - Develop teamwork skills; - Plan and implement original empirical studies, interpreting, discussing and writing up their results and conclusions using scientific language; - Make ethical decisions in their area of work in accordance with the Code of Ethics of the Portuguese Psychologists' Association.
