On 27 March 2025, Lusófona University – Porto University Centre hosted the event "Ethics, Power, and Technology in Social Work: Pathways to Responsible Intervention", organised by Professor Cristiana Almeida and promoted by the Faculty of Economic, Social and Business Sciences (FCESE). Held as part of International Social Work Day, the event brought together students and professionals to reflect on emerging ethical challenges in social intervention.

The programme commenced with an opening session, followed by a lecture from Gonçalo Mota, entitled "Artificial Intelligence and the Limits of Discretion in Ethical Decision-Making in Social Work".
