Technical Workshops and Use of POSCA Materials for Creation and Self-Expression
Students challenged to explore customisation techniques and creative expression through the world of skateboarding
Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
As part of the "Lusófona X NO23 Special Edition" project, promoted by Lusófona University - Lisbon University Centre, in partnership with NO23 Skateboards and POSCA, an immersive workshop dedicated to advanced skateboard customisation techniques and exploration of POSCA materials was held on 26 March.
The session was led by Nuno Oliveira, Creative Director of NO23 Skateboards, who shared with students his knowledge and experience in the professional application of customisation techniques, challenging participants to view the skateboard as a platform for artistic expression and visual identity.
More than just a practical activity, the workshop provided a creative space where students could experiment, question, and apply technical knowledge to the development of personalised projects. The use of POSCA markers — internationally recognised for their versatility across different surfaces — played a central role in bringing ideas to life and allowing individual creative freedom.
By combining technique, creativity, and critical thinking, the event represented a unique opportunity for applied learning and direct engagement with the professional world of urban illustration and customisation, fostering dialogue between art, design, and youth culture.
