The degree course in Visual Arts is one of the projects of the Lusófona University of Lisbon in the field of culture and contemporary art, and its specialization is Painting, Drawing and Public Art. The entire teaching team is directly related to culture and art. Visual Arts teachers have a significant artistic activity and are researchers in the field of Fine Arts. The degree course in Visual Arts, inserted at ECATI - School of Communication, Arts and Information Technologies at ULHT - guarantees that, within the scope of an interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration, the spectrum of individual interests of students is supported by tutors and technically assisted by specialists, which allows for diversified results at the media level.

Technical and professional skills that I will acquire
The Degree in Visual Arts is structured on a conceptual continuum to ensure learning (in the 1st year), the development and expansion of practical, technical, artistic, theoretical and conceptual skills directly related to the Arts (2nd year) that culminate in the project autonomy of each student (3rd year). In this process, the individual visual intelligence that each student brings/has is highlighted and developed. Simultaneously, it seeks to increase self-criticism and a sense of artistic responsibility and provide strategies for the development of creative and authorial autonomy. Methods/resources/strategies are taught to investigate, practice and theorize in the field of Visual Arts where the student understands their creative potential as a professional and masters the means of painting, drawing, engraving, illustration and implements projects in the field public art and community relations.

Generally speaking, all students can continue their academic path in Masters in the field of Arts (CNAEF 21). At ULHT these areas are present in all Masters of the DCAM - Department of Cinema and Media Arts, and also in the Masters in Teaching Visual Arts in the 3rd Cycle of Basic Education and in Secondary Education (FCSEA- Faculty of Social Sciences, Education and ULHT Administration). More specifically, students can continue their academic path in Masters in the area of Fine Arts (CNAEF 211), in order to consolidate their training as artists or professionals integrated in the artistic system.

All ECATI infrastructures support students in the Visual Arts Degree course, namely: Painting and Drawing Workshop nude model Atelier equipped with easels and drawing boards reserved for students. (workshop rooms 24/24) Specialist, pedagogical and technical support that includes photography, silkscreen, film, video, sound and electronic devices laboratories to produce digital animation. The privileged situation of its facilities in Lisbon, the capital city with the greatest cultural offer in the country, expands the range of learning resources that include visits to the most important galleries, museums, libraries, cultural institutions and theaters.
