Lusófona University is a member of the consortium for the Robotics Knowledge Transfer Lab (ROBO-KNOT) project, funded by the Horizon Europe (ERA Talents) programme, with a total budget of approximately 3 million euros. The project will run for 36 months and involves 10 international partners.

The project, led by EIT Digital, is an intersectoral and cross-border mobility initiative aimed at accelerating knowledge transfer in the field of robotics. By facilitating the deployment of research and innovation (R&I) talent between academic and non-academic sectors, this project seeks to foster more attractive and sustainable research careers in Widening countries, such as Portugal, aligning with the European Commission's ERA (European Research Area) Policy Agenda.

Researcher Luís Miguel Campos will play a central role in the project, which will directly involve 24 researchers and 12 R&I support professionals from academic institutions in Widening countries.

Focusing on capacity-building and talent development in robotics, ROBO-KNOT aims to consolidate knowledge networks, promote partnerships, and strengthen scientific and technological competitiveness in Europe.

EIT Digital is one of the 9 KICs (Knowledge and Innovation Communities) created by the European Institute of Innovation & Technology since 2010, funded by the European Union, where Lusófona University is a full member.
