Master's in Clinical and Health Psychology
Hello, my name is Joana Ferreira and I did a Master's in Clinical and Health Psychology here at Lusófona University. The master's is challenging, I won't lie. Of course there are highs and lows, but I think in the end it ends up being quite challenging, enriching and also rewarding.
I am now doing a professional internship at the Psychology, Innovation and Knowledge Service, the SPIC, here at Lusófona University. And it has been a five-star, fantastic experience. In other words, this internship has been very challenging in the sense that I come across new challenges, I take what I have learned and I go and look for it myself.
But being with the community has also been fundamental, both here at the University and outside. Workshops, sessions we have been doing, have been important to consolidate these foundations I brought from my undergraduate degree and master's, but also to learn new foundations and skills. One piece of advice I give to students who are thinking of applying for the Master's in Clinical Psychology or the Psychology degree is not to be afraid.
It may seem like a frightening phase and it is, however I think that here at Lusófona University the lecturers of the Psychology course are always ready to help us and to take advantage of all opportunities, because I think higher education can be scary, but you learn a lot and grow a lot. And it is quite nice, sometimes, to see the person who entered and the person who left, who are the same person, but different people.
