Mestrado Erasmus Mundus HYGIEIA - Health and Wellbeing Across the Lifespan

HYGIEIA Health and Wellbeing Across the Lifespan is a 2-year Erasmus Mundus Joint Master taught in English and delivered by Lusófona University (Lisbon), University of Belgrade (Serbia) and the University of the Balearic Islands (Spain), together with partners from academia, industry and healthcare. The program offers a single joint curriculum combining the expertise of the three institutions. Inspired by Hygieia from Greek mythology, a symbol of health and prevention, the program focuses on improving wellbeing through preventive strategies across the lifespan. Students gain scientific knowledge and practical skills to design non-pharmacological health approaches, including nutrition, lifestyle education, responsible use of cosmetics and food supplements, and digital health tools. HYGIEIA prepares a new generation of professionals for careers in the growing health and wellness sector, bringing evidence-based knowledge to industry and society.

HYGIEIA will accept candidates holding degrees which are equivalent with European Qualification Framework Level 6 (or higher), from areas related to pharmaceutical sciences, medical sciences, nutrition, sports, biochemistry, chemistry, biology or other health and life science related areas. Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum, preferably in the area of Health Sciences, and secondarily in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Nutritional Sciences, Sports or other related areas of Health and Life Sciences, which is recognized as attesting to the capacity to carry out this cycle of studies by the statutorily competent scientific body, who are subject to an interview, can also be accepted. The programme will admit a total of 25 students per intake.

Candidates with a background in Health or Life Sciences, hoping to undertake a career in the industry and businesses relevant to the areas of Health & Wellness.

HYGIEIA will contribute to the education of a new generation of professionals pursuing careers in the Health & Wellness industry and businesses, NGOs promoting Public Health, regulatory bodies, and research centers. Graduates of HYGIEIA will be well-equipped to continue their academic journey through PhD programs.

Funded by the European Union, with scholarships available to the strongest candidates The HYGIEIA Joint Master is delivered entirely in English. HYGIEIA has mandatory mobility between the three consortium schools, and the academic programme can only be achieved via mobility.
