Introduction
Historical, social, educational, sporting and personal circumstances led to the creation of what we are today: Lusófona University and the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport. Today, we renew and update our commitment and fundamental objective of responding to the needs of the country and the aspirations of those who are part of this remarkable Team: students, first and foremost – it is for them and because of them that we exist – lecturers, administrative staff, the Administration, Rectorate and the remaining University bodies.
Academic and scientific rigour and excellence, innovation and a strong connection with the Community, continuously assessed and recognised by the relevant entities (A3Es, Federations, Clubs and Schools) and by our students, constitute the main reference point of a history with a future, pursuing the dignity and social recognition of Physical Education and Sport as an essential field of knowledge and action for the education, health and well-being of every individual and the wider community.
