The Fernando Lopes Cinema, at the Lusófona University - Lisbon University Centre, hosted another event on 17 September 2024, promoted by the Department of Cinema and Media Arts (DCAM). The Great Artists on Campus II Conference Series featured this time the renowned visual artist Daniel Blaufuks.

The artist is widely known for his explorations of the relationship between public and private memory, addressing these issues through photography, video, books, and installations. His work has been exhibited in major contemporary art museums and galleries, as well as at film festivals. Among his most notable projects are the book and film *Sob Céus Estranhos* and the award-winning work on the Terezín concentration camp in the Czech Republic, which led to the publication of the book *As If* (2010) and the film of the same name in 2014.

During the conference, Blaufuks discussed the influence of texts by authors such as W. G. Sebald and Georges Perec on his work, particularly regarding the relationship between photography, cinema, and the Holocaust. With a PhD from the University of Wales, the artist also addressed themes from his award-winning exhibitions, such as *Tentativa de Esgotamento* and *Léxico*, as well as recent projects dealing with the resistance to the German occupation in Brittany and colonialism in São Tomé and Príncipe.

The event provided a rich exchange of ideas between Blaufuks and the audience. He himself highlighted that "every work of art is made through dialogue", creating an atmosphere of sharing and reflection on the challenges and nuances of memory in contemporary art.
