Lusófona University, through the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, invites the team of its University Hospital to submit applications for four positions of Clinical Assistant. This opportunity aims to strengthen the teaching staff and promote excellence in education and research in the field of Veterinary Medicine.

Requirements:

  • Pre-Bologna degree or Integrated Master's post-Bologna in Veterinary Medicine, with a focus on specialisation;
  • Passive or active experience in teaching and/or research activities in the field of Veterinary Medicine;
  • Ability to work in a team and integrate into multidisciplinary projects;

Main Activities:

  • Teach assigned courses in the field of Veterinary Medicine;
  • Develop research activities aligned with the strategic objectives of the Faculty;
  • Participate in university extension activities and provide services to the community;

Selection Panel:

The selection panel is composed of three members from FMV – Faculty of Veterinary Medicine:
(i) Chair – Professor Doctor Laurentina Pedroso, ULusófona;
(ii) Prof. João Martins, ULusófona;
(iii) Prof. Ana Santana, ULusófona;

Selection Method:
Applications admitted for the competition will be evaluated considering the quality, opportunity, and relevance of the academic and pedagogical curriculum as well as clinical experience.

1- In the first stage of the selection process, the panel will evaluate the set of elements listed below, on a scale from 0 to 100:
a) Involvement and experience in teaching activities, with emphasis on practical activities with students from the Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Nursing courses, and participation in teaching and/or scientific-technical activities in areas related to the work plan subject to the competition (up to 15% of the evaluation in this phase);
b) Professional experience of the candidate, with special emphasis on activities developed in the last 3 years, carried out in areas related to the work plan subject to the competition (up to 50% of the evaluation in this phase);
c) Continuous education throughout life (10%) and cover letter to assess the candidate's motivation and interest in the activities to be developed (10% of the evaluation);
d) If the jury opts to conduct an interview with the candidates, which is solely for the clarification of aspects related to the results of their research (corresponding to a maximum of 15% of the total evaluation), up to 5 candidates with the highest scores will be considered, but only evaluations that score above 60% will be taken into account.

Interested candidates should submit their applications to the Director of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
